Rachel Mason's documentary Circus of Books, about the gay adult bookstore owned by her parents Karen and Barry Mason, earned the honor of opening the festival Thursday night. The film executive produced by Ryan Murphy (Pose, American Horror Story) and John Battsek (Listen to Me Marlon), among others, has been acquired by Netflix.
