Amy is named Best Music Film at the awards in Los Angeles Amy continues its impressive march through awards season. The acclaimed documentary on Amy Winehouse, directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees, won the Grammy on Monday night for Best Music Film. That followed a win the night before at the BAFTAs in London for best documentary. The film has racked up awards almost too numerous to mention, including top documentary honors from the Critics Choice Awards, the Chicago Film Critics Association, the London Film Critics Circle, the Washington Area Film Critics Circle, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the National Board of Review. Next up for Amy is perhaps the biggest contest of all, the Academy Awards. The documentary faces stiff competition at the Feb. 28 awards ceremony, from fellow nominees What Happened, Miss Simone?, Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom, Cartel Land and The Look of Silence.
