The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival officially comes to a close on Saturday, wrapping the 34th edition of the event that featured dozens of fiction and nonfiction films.

In the nonfiction categories, director PJ Raval's Call Her Ganda earned the Grand Jury Prize for Outstanding North American Documentary Feature. Best director went to Bing Liu for his film Minding the Gap. A Special Jury Mention was awarded to Anote's Ark by director Matthieu Rytz and Best Cinematography honors went to Nathan Fitch for his work on Island Soldier. The jury awarded the Best Editing prize to Alejandro Valdes-Rochin and Tom Maroney for Science Fair.

The closing night event, held Thursday night at the Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo, featured the documentary Matangi/Maya/M.I.A., Stephen Loveridge's film on the controversial Sri Lankan-born pop star.
