Susan Lacy's film features all-star cast, and Spielberg himself
I've been fortunate to interview Steven Spielberg a number of times -- on the red carpet for the premiere of Amistad, for instance, and at various Hollywood events over the years. That pales in comparison to the amount of time director Susan Lacy has spent with the filmmaker.
Lacy reportedly interviewed him for a total of almost 30 hours for her documentary Spielberg, about the man behind Jaws, Schindler's List, Munich, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. and so many more cinematic works. She also interviewed some of his famous friends and collaborators, including Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Christian Bale, George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola, Harrison Ford, and Oprah Winfrey, among others. "Through exclusive interviews with actors, family, and the filmmaker himself, this unprecedented documentary pulls back the curtain on the remarkable career of Steven Spielberg," HBO says on its website. HBO has just released a trailer for the film, which premieres on the network Saturday, October 7. Watch it here:
