"TransFatty Lives," the autobiographical film from DJ and internet personality Patrick O'Brien, is the winner of the audience award for documentary at the 2015 TriBeCa Film Festival.
O'Brien's film has been described as an innovative video diary of sorts documenting his life since he was diagnosed with ALS in 2005. The festival hailed the film as "stylishly woven together... Truly, a revealing journey into the depths of a cruel illness, and a stirring observation on the decision to remain alive."
The audience award comes with a $25,000 prize. See the trailer below.
