Film directed by Dava Whisenant competed for Best Music Documentary and Best Music Score The documentary Bathtubs Over Broadway has won acclaim for celebrating a "sub-sub-genre" of musical theater -- Broadway style productions singing the praises of brands like McDonald's, Ford, DuPont and General Electric. It was Steve Young, a comedy writer for the Late Show with David Letterman, who uncovered the existence of these little-known gems. He's the main subject of the documentary, the rare nonfiction film that is funny, entertaining, and, of course, informative. Director Dava Whisenant, producer Amanda Spain and co-writer and co-producer Ozzy Inguanzo spoke with Nonfictionfilm.com on the red carpet at the IDA Awards, where their film was nominated for Best Music Documentary and Best Music Score. |
